According to the FBI's National Crime Information Center, the number of reported laptop thefts increased almost 48% over the last two years, from 73,700 to almost 109,000. The number of reported phone robberies jumped 33% over the same period, from 60,100 to nearly 80,300. We know first hand how close Mac owners are to their systems, they can almost be like family just like how we rely on them for our programming of our mobile security software.
But what happened if our Mac are lost or stolen?
Phoenix keeps track of our precious Mac OS computer with the latest technology Skyhook Wireless capability, that detects the location of the stolen machine, globally!
When a laptop is stolen, it is not just the loss of the machine but also the sensitive and valuable information stored in it. This is especially so for corporate and individuals whom rely heavily on their laptops for work.

How it works?
Now with Phoenix, the stealth program can pinpoint the location* of the thief and collects vital details (see below) to assist in the recovery of a stolen laptop!
Upon connecting to an internet network, an authentication dialog will pop up requesting the user to enter a password. If the user fails to enter the correct password within the pre-defined timing, hidden alerts (email and SMS text alert) and location will be sent out immediately to alert the owner.
Skyhook Wireless* - Hybrid positioning system (XPS) is a software-only location solution that allows any mobile device with Wi-Fi, GPS or a cellular radio (GSM/CDMA) to determine its position with an accuracy of 10 to 20 meters. Details

Alert Message
The alert message is sends out silently in the background with no indication that the software is running when connected to the internet.
Repetitive alerts can be set to send Alert Message every minute on the background.
Tamper Proof
Password protection to ensure no unauthorized access to the software. The machine will then automatically 'freeze up' to prevent any mishandling and display details on how to contact the owner.
Auto Start Up
Phoenix autoruns every time the computer is connected to the internet.
Location of thief
With the use of location based service (Skyhook Wireless), the geolocation of the stolen laptop will be packed into a web address and be sent out.
Note: Wifi positioning may not work 100% in all areas.

Video Recording
Phoenix will record via the built-in iSight camera* and send out alerts together with other important information; IP addresses, machine serial number, MAC Hardware Address and even details of nearby wireless networks out immediately!
